School Visits

An important part of Toronto Pflag’s mission involves visiting schools and talking to kids, teachers, and staff about what it means to be gay or trans, and about how to be a good ally. We visit many schools that just want to promote acceptance and celebrate diversity. We also can be called in when there is a problem with bullying or when a family needs help getting a school to provide an affirming environment. We are an Official Partner of the Toronto District School Board and our presentations are approved for students from Grade 2 to 12. To arrange a free Toronto Pflag workshop or presentation at your school, please contact our office at 416-406-1727 or email

presentations For students

Toronto Pflag volunteers are available to visit your school to promote diversity, empower allies, and combat transphobic and homophobic bullying.  We can speak to an individual classroom, or to multi-grade groups in libraries or assemblies. There is no charge for these visits.

Other school visits

Presentations can be customized for:

  • Teachers and administrative staff during lunch & learn meetings, or professional activity days

  • Gay-Straight Alliances (We can also help set up a GSA at your school. Legislation requires that a school set up a GSA if one student requests it.)

  • Parents at school meetings or special events
