Virtual School Workshops (Free)
An important part of Toronto Pflag’s mission is conducting education workshops for students, teachers, staff, and parents on topics that include
• Gender identity
• Sexual orientation
• Coming out
• Bullying
• How to be a good ally
We’re an official partner of the Toronto District School Board and our age-appropriate presentations are approved for students from Grades 2 through 12. Workshops vary in length depending on grade level and include time for questions or discussion after the presentation.
Toronto Pflag workshops are free of charge to schools and associated parent / teacher groups. Please submit your information using this online registration form and a Toronto Pflag representative will be in touch to finalize details.
Our workshops are conducted by a dedicated group of volunteers who are in great demand, especially just before and during Pride month in June, so the more lead time you can provide, the better the chance of booking your preferred date(s).

NOTE: During the pandemic, we moved our operations online. All programs are continuing, with virtual visits! At first we thought this was just the best we could do under the circumstances, but we’ve discovered it actually works even better than our in-person visits, and allows much more flexibility and interaction! We will continue with virtual presentations going forward.
presentations For students
Toronto Pflag volunteers are available to visit your school (virtually) to promote diversity, empower allies, and combat transphobic and homophobic bullying. We can speak to an individual classroom, or to larger or multi-grade groups. There is no charge for school presentations.
Other school EVENts
Presentations can be customized for:
Teachers and administrative staff during lunch & learn meetings, or professional activity days
Gay-Straight Alliances (We can also help set up a GSA at your school. Legislation requires that a school set up a GSA if one student requests it.)
Parents at school meetings or special events
Where we’ve been
We are an approved partner of the TDSB, and we have been given permission to do presentations with kids in Grade 2-Grade 12. We are increasingly being invited to speak at Catholic schools as well.
These are some of the schools we’ve done workshops with. We’d love to add yours to the list!
