Pride 2023 is here!

Happy Pride Month from all our Toronto Pflag families and volunteers!

With June suddenly arriving, Pride is less than 20 days away!  Over the past months we have seen a deliberate increase in anti-trans and anti-queer sentiments, from flag raisings at schools, to drag events at libraries, to a rise in anti-trans bills and policies across the US, or more locally this past week in New Brunswick. You can tell that Pride 2023 is going to be loud and proud with our Pflag families and volunteers readying our rainbows and preparing to share rainbow love, far and wide throughout the entire month of June.

Want to participate with Toronto Pflag at Pride? Let us know you are interested by writing to us any time with questions at events@torontopflag.org or if you want to volunteer, there are a few volunteer spots available and we appreciate all the extra hands & hearts that help to make Pride a success! Sign up through our sign-up form today!

In June, there are many LGBTQ2S+ events happening in-person across the city and virtually online. Check out Pride Toronto’s official programming on their social media accounts @PrideToronto or read up on queer events happening on Yohomo’s Pride Guide 2023

Toronto Pflag volunteers are working on events for this year aimed at amplifying queer voices in a wider range of communities. On June 11th, we will be partnering on two events: one in-person, the other virtual online. Queens of Dim Sum will celebrate incredible East Asian drag talent, and Conversations with Pflag is a new initiative to provide support to the Persian speaking community and work to amplify stories about the Queer Iranian experience.

Want to help us make Posters for Pride? Check out Pride Poster Making below!  This event was a huge success last year and it even qualifies for high school volunteer hours if you know students out there looking for an activity.

Stay tuned for more information about Marching with Pflag at Pride, our Street fair Booth, Family Pride, or Trans Community Fair, Rally and March.  We will have more information coming later this month! Happy Pride!
